Books on Innovation, Ideas, Ideation, Thinking, and Visualization: I was recently asked about books that stimulate Idea thinking, these are some of the books I have read (these are old I am sure there are better or more up to date references). I will create a list of websites later
- Innovation: These books explore new methods, ideas, or products. They aim to introduce significant positive change. Examples include “The Innovator’s Dilemma” by Clayton Christensen and “Creative Confidence” by Tom and David Kelley.
- Ideas: These books delve into the origins and development of new thoughts and concepts. “Steal Like an Artist” by Austin Kleon and “Made to Stick” by Chip and Dan Heath fit here.
- Ideation: Focuses on the creative process of generating new ideas. “Jamming: The Art and Discipline of Business Creativity” by John Kao and “Think! Before It’s Too Late” by Edward de Bono are prime examples.
- Thinking: These books cover different ways to approach problems and make decisions. Think “The Art of Being Fully Human” by Leo Buscaglia or “Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World” by Adam Grant.
- Visualization: Emphasizes the power of visual thinking and how it can enhance understanding and creativity. Books like “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert and “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield are good choices. other I have read are:
- Imagineering by Michael Leboeuf
- The Art of Being Fully Human by Leo F. Buscaglia
- Think! Before It’s Too Late by Edward de Bono
- Viral Loop: The Power of Pass-It-On by Adam L. Penenberg
- Jamming: The Art and Discipline of Business Creativity by John J. Kao
- Fast Company: Still going strong as an inspiration source.
- Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon
