Introduction
This is an initial application of A Rough Guide to Co- Design with AI: From Idea to Reality I dictated a page and asked AI to sort using a prompt from Capturing a Stream of Consciousness About an Idea using AI , As a creative ideas broker and entrepreneur, you had an inspired stream of thought on an idea (attached). You dictated it and now want to categorize, organize, rewrite, and analyse it. Provide suggestions to improve or develop the idea.
Then asked AI to create a prompt after two iterations:
Design Prompt: FrameVault Adjustable Photo Frame & Archival System
Objective:
Design a sleek, wall-mountable poster frame that combines archival storage, adjustable display formats, and easy user interaction—all in a home-friendly form factor. The product must elegantly store 15–20 poster sleeves while offering rapid interchangeability of the front display, accommodating prints from A4 to A1 sizes.
🎯 Core Design Goals:
- Adjustability: Develop an insert system that centers various poster sizes (A4 to A1 / 24×36″) with precision. Explore magnetic clamps, sliding rails, or adaptive padding.
- Rapid Interchange: Engineer a seamless front cover mechanism (e.g., hidden hinge + latch) that allows users to change posters in under 60 seconds without detaching the frame.
- Archival Safety: Integrate materials and sealing techniques that protect ink and paper—UV-filtering acrylic, acid-free sleeves, optional silica pockets.
- Minimalist Aesthetics: Ensure the design is elegant, unobtrusive, and suitable for modern interiors. Bezel finishes and modular sizes should appeal to collectors and interior designers alike.
🛠️ Technical Parameters:

🧪 Engineering Challenges:
- Prevent sag over time in hinged front panel
- Maintain even surface pressure to avoid ripples in print
- Control weight while keeping robust construction
- Address static and moisture without affecting display quality
📐 Size Variants:
Design modular systems:
- Small: 50×40 cm — up to A3 / 15 sleeves
- Medium: 80×60 cm — A2 / 20 sleeves
- Large: 95×71 cm — A1 / 20 sleeves
Ensure mounting hardware supports safe installation on drywall or freestanding easel options.
🔎 Optional Features to Explore:
- NFC tag integration for inventory management app
- Clip-on bezel color kits (matte/gloss options)
- LED edge lighting that preserves archival standards
- AR app integration to preview posters digitally

Concepts

Here’s a photorealistic concept render of the FrameShift™ poster frame. It illustrates the large-door hinge swung open, the EVA foam centring rails gripping an A3 print, and the tidy stack of archival sleeves plus desiccant pocket nestled in the rear cavity.

Here’s a photorealistic A0-size “FrameShift™” render showing both states at once:
- Left – Frame resting floor-lean style, door fully closed to highlight the monolithic front and minimalist 2 mm inner radius.
- Right – Second unit on a simple beechwood easel, door at 90 °, exposing the EVA grid rails, spacious cavity that accommodates 20 archival sleeves, and the honeycomb-stiffened UV-acrylic door panel.
This illustrates how the largest FrameShift variant can work either as freestanding floor art or on a studio/gallery easel while still offering the same rapid-swap, high-capacity archival drawer.

Here’s a dedicated render of the archival sleeve set:
- The open FrameShift™ cavity shows where the sleeves park behind the display print—note the low-friction spring bar at the bottom.
- A stack of 20 translucent polypropylene sleeves is pulled forward and fanned slightly so you can see their clarity, 0 .6 mm wall thickness, and the small index notches that aid page-flipping.
- Inside the cavity you’ll spot the silica-gel pocket tucked below the spring bar for humidity control.

Conclusion
FrameVault / FrameShift™ is not just a product—it’s a design platform for collectors who want more than static frames and closet-stored prints. From the sliding magnetic clamps to the UV-shielded acrylic, every element is built to respect your art and your living space. The ability to rotate artwork in under 60 seconds, while preserving the rest of your collection in a sealed, archival-grade chamber, addresses a fundamental collector pain point.
While some questions remain—Can one size truly frame all? Should bezels be swappable?, I want it to have a minimalist or luxury frame , Light weight materials etc. If I want it slimmer what would it look like with space for 5 prints? If its for a floor display can in be a trolly with capacity for 100 . What mounting systems will best suit global users?—this prototype is a confident leap forward. Whether you’re showcasing Warhol, Banksy, or your own screenprints, FrameShift™ is a gallery wall waiting to happen.
